Repairing the Front Frame Rail

Got the engine bay stripped down and ready to start the left frame rail extension repairs.
To straighten the mangled mess, I had to cut off the frame extension just ahead of the suspension cross member mounting location.




 
 
 After sandblasting and during straightening it became clear that the metal was full of cracks and bad welds. I decided to cut all the bad metal out and weld in a new fabricated section.
 

 
 

 
Repaired frame extension is welded on and new internal gusseting fabricated and welded in.
