Starting on the rotisserie stands

I decided to bite the bullet and just make the stands from steel despite the high cost. First task was to make the design in CAD so I could start a shopping list.

Much of the steel stock that goes into this has been running at about $20 per foot lately! But I found a local scrap yard that has a selection of some of the right sizes though at a more reasonable $8-$9 per foot. Still about double what I would have paid a couple years ago.

Got the two crossmembers framed out. These are 2.5" x .12 wall square tube. Casters are 6" diameter, double locking, and 1350lb rating each. Overkill, but I want it to be easy to roll.

Starting Rotisserie construction

Got the rotisserie adapter brackets made up. These attach to the front frame at the bumper mount points, and to the bumper brackets at the rear. Not really sure yet how this is going to turn out. Just making it up as I go.
Now to figure out what kind of stands to make for them.

First coats of epoxy primer

Got the topsides sprayed with 2 coats of PPG Shopline JP375 2K epoxy primer. With the total strip, all areas had to be sprayed - every nook and cranny. This means the spray gun had to reach into a lot of awkward spots at non-ideal angles for spraying. As a result there's a lot of overspray induced texture that will need to get sanded later. But at least it's not going to get rusty in the meantime.

Next is to figure out some way to flip it over to do the undersides. Was planning to get a rotisserie but the price has gone up by about 50% in the last 6 month. Even the price of steel stock to make one is ridiculous.
